Buying notes
- Timing belt: check for proof of replacement at 90,000 mi / 150,000 km.[5] The 2UZ-FE is commonly described as an interference engine, so treat a missing record as a must-do job.[6]
- In hard use, look for IFS lower control arm cracks and failures of the 1998–99 front diff.[1]
